Snapshots #453: Haberdashery Songs

I wanted a picture of a famous dressmaker holding a camera today - but no luck with Vivienne Westwood or Coco Chanel... so here's a famous Taylor instead.

Songs you might find in a haberdashery shop. Unless you're in the US, where haberdashery doesn't mean sewing supplies and accessories, but means men's clothing instead. Apologies for any confusion.

  1. Had I been here yesterday I would have got Patrik Fitzgerald straight away. The 'Safety Pin' EP has been in my collection since it came out at the dawn of time. 'Optimism/ Reject' includes what I believe may be the only reference to Scando bacon in popular music.

    Congratulations to Alyson

  2. Thanks Rol. 'Haberdashery' has to be one of my favourite words.
Yes Ernie, what a great EP from Patrik, a Peel favourite. Fond memories of seeing him play in a little upstairs room at local hotel in '79 to a tiny, but very supportive, audience.
