Saturday Snapshots #40

I come from the land of the ice and snow, from the midnight sun where the hot springs blow... to bring you Saturday Snapshots.

Identify ten artists and their songs from the clues below, please...

10. God, the German trees in France are all conifers.

9. Emergency! There's knaves in the cellar!

8. Is my belle surprised? I'll ask her.

7. These guys certainly don't own a Blue Nile album. And their disco is full of cotton wool.

6. Bah! Clomp is not a man.

5. Morrissey's window cleaner dines with bright kings.

4. Saint swaps chainmail and dumps January's aviator.

3. B.A. hires The Cars for dim bulbs.

2. Little David Bowie's noisy band RSVP.

1. Playgirl fantasies on Martha's beach run from the barber.

There'll be a Whole Lotta Love if you come back tomorrow for the answers...

    2. Hey there. I'm on vacation, but I couldn't help but take a peek just now from the hotel. Could the song be Write Back? I'm thinking you may have had something else in mind even though the clue fits because that's a somewhat obscure song. It began as a B-side, in fact. Then again, maybe you have the album Falling Off the Sky. It did appear there later. Hmm. I do recall you taking a shine to them. Anyway, congrats to CC for getting the band.

    3. As they were never really a thing over here, I have no idea what their popular stuff is and what's considered obscure... but Write Back is a favourite from the tracks I won.

      Have a great holiday, Brian.
