Saturday Snapshots #102
Saturday Snapshots... it's a very complicated case. You know, a lotta ins, lotta outs, lotta what-have-you's. And, uh, lotta strands to keep in my head, man. Lotta strands in old Duder's head. Luckily I'm adhering to a pretty strict, uh, drug regimen to keep my mind, you know, limber.
Guess the song and the singer from the ten clues below, please.
This quiz really ties the room together.
10. A Partridge exclaims, "d'you wanna scrap?"
9. Eagle retrievers mixed up in brothels revery.
8. Killed a mockingbird then drove off in a tiny emerald.
7. Shhh... they've got their guns.
6. A brief continental burn.
5. Two apples... but not for Steven Dalglish.
4. I sense that a Western Scott has you rockin' and a'reelin'.
3. Plebs in space.
2. Skinny queen sees Brian, Carl and Al return to the city.
1. If I were... to catch the paper boy? I'd be a coyote botherer.
Saturday Snapshots abides. Answers tomorrow. Until then: fuck it, Dude... let's go bowling.
9. "Bird Dog" by The Everly Brothers
ReplyDeleteNo.10 - A-ha - Take On Me
ReplyDelete2 Thin Lizzy Boys Are Back in Town
ReplyDelete6 Asia Heat of The Moment
ReplyDelete10: Take On Me by A-ha
ReplyDelete9. Yes Lynchie beat me to it - anagram of Every Brothers.
ReplyDeleteThought the song was something to do with a dream though - All I Have To Do Is Dream? Not sure where the brothels comes in!?
That's part of the anagram!
DeleteOf course it is - Because I recognised them I just assumed it was the first part of the clue "mixed" without really checking out the letters.
Delete2. "The Boys Are Back In Town" - Thin Lizzy
ReplyDelete5 Gerard Kenny - New York New York
ReplyDelete(I do like a football related clue)
Ha ha - Yes a great clue and not one I would have thought Rol would have been able to come up with! He's perhaps a closet football fan after all.
Delete4. Barbara Randolph (Randolph Scott!) but I can't figure out the song...
ReplyDelete1 Johnathan Richman and The Modern Lovers - Roadrunner
ReplyDelete1. Jonathan Richman & The Modern Lovers - "Roadrunner (Twice)"
ReplyDelete(inserts big thumbs up icon thingy)
Delete7. "Hush Hush" - Pistol Annies
ReplyDelete8. Going to kick myself but not the Boo Radleys - Something Harper or Atticus related I wonder and a green vehicle.
ReplyDeleteThat's as far as I got. Maybe "Ireland" is in there somewhere too
DeleteYou're on the right track but this is a pretty obscure band, I guess. I have featured them here before. They're Irish, if that helps.
DeleteLook very closely at one of the gentlemen in #2 and you may recognise him...
ReplyDeleteIs that Billy Bragg in number 3?
DeleteI'm guessing this is his earlier band Riff Raff.
The single I Wanna Be A Cosmonaut fits the clue
Can't get the year right. Can't even count. I really am losing it.
DeleteGood job you guys are as sharp as ever!
