One is not amused with these Saturday Snapshots at all. 127 weeks, and you haven't even featured Freddie Mercury's band once? Orf wiv their 'eads!
Ten clues below which should lead you to ten artists and ten tunes. Sorry, no Bohemian Rhapsody this week, ma'am.
10. Carla Thomas = The Mighty Wah.
9. Ditto, like one member of an Ohio band.
8. Young Jack Kerouac expresses surprise at Go-Betweens album.
7. Laugh and wake because it's no longer day.
6. Pretty dixie single-hander.
5. At the start of the year, Pearl got a new partner in a swell town.
4. Plane ticket, date unspecified, and cry forward.
3. Lodestone influences patriarchal bronco contest.
2. Replacement, comes on knocking.
1. Forever tomorrow, minor 5th.
Answers tomorrow - by royal decree.
8 Talulah Gosh - Beatnick Boy
ReplyDeleteTricky this week
2. The Who - "Substitute"
ReplyDelete4. Randy Crawford -"One Day I'll Fly Away"
ReplyDeleteno 2 - Substitute by The Who
ReplyDelete10. The Equals - can't figure the song. Carla Thomas sang "Tramp" and that's all I have.
ReplyDelete6 - Beautiful South - I’ll Sail This Ship Alone?
ReplyDelete6. The Beautiful South - "I'll Sail This Ship Alone"
ReplyDelete5. Jan and Dean - "Surf City"
ReplyDeleteNo 1 - it’s either someone from the 50s or someone from the 80s. But who...
ReplyDeleteBilly Fury or Morrissey!
Alyson - I'm going for Billy Fury - "Halfway to Paradise"
DeleteErring towards a 50s icon myself but can fit them to the clue.
DeleteNot Billy Fury.
DeleteThe Fall
Delete?
Much self-kicking will be done.
DeleteMorris Minor - Morrissey - Every Day Is Like Sunday. Not a 50s icon then.
DeleteThat picture contains a bit of an optical illusion. I thought it was taken from the back with him facing the docks (or whatever it is) but he is facing towards the camera - Same silhouette.
DeleteI thought the same about the viewpoint and that it was taken from the back - great observation. Also just realised he shares Chris Isaak's profile!
DeleteI had to blow it up to see that but yes, weird. The Chris Isaak quiff too although he tended to wear less sloppy clothes and was always quite sharp-dressed (but not like the ZZ Top boys).
DeleteIf you can get 10, you can get 9.
ReplyDeleteI thought this week's was too easy!!!
ReplyDeleteWhat's The Equals song? Black Skin Blue Eyed Boys?
DeleteI only know one Equals song.
DeleteCarla Thomas didn't just do Tramp. The Mighty Wah didn't just so Story of the Blues.
Well then - Carla Thomas did B-A-B-Y, so it has to be "Baby Come Back"!
ReplyDeleteWhich now should make 9 easier.
DeleteCharity Chic has featured #3 & 7 at his site... pretty sure within the last year (unless I'm imagining things).
