Saturday Snapshots #128
Oops. Almost didn't have a Saturday Snapshots this week. I've had a backlog for ages that I've been working through, but I didn't realise I'd exhausted that last Saturday. But in this age of social distancing, I couldn't leave you without a little Saturday morning diversion... so I stayed up late on Friday to bring you these.
Remember... the answers are out there!
10. Sadder than a rug cutting Walrus.
9. Once upon a time... the end. Peanut ballads.
8. Martin Luther ♡ $6,000,000 Man.
7. Read Butler's smoking pal his rights and pour on the paraffin.
6. Panic in the green streets leaves me wanting.
5. Related to #1; wants to get to Homebase.
4. Small openings for ordinary ladies.
3. Albert's brother, perhaps, without his cereal, catches 40 winks.
2. Yo, Dad, Sir... accept your fate.
1. Pressured by Blur? Can't handle it? Call for an ancient French trickster.
This could be a case for Mulder & Scully! Let's see if they've solved them all tomorrow morning...
2. Doris Day - Que Sera Sera (My current theme tune!)
ReplyDeleteI dithered too long with a long comment
DeleteYou snooze, you lose Alyson! :)
Delete2, A little ray of sunshine - Doris Day and Que Sera Sera.
ReplyDeleteThanks for staying up late Rol - Just the distraction we need.
Thought the picture was Anne Widdicombe!
DeleteThat's a real insult to the lovely Ms Day!
Delete3. Daryl Hall - "Can't Stop Dreaming"
ReplyDeleteWrong song.
Delete9. To Cut A Long Story Short - Spandau Ballet
ReplyDeleteI'm seeing a pattern with the song titles.
ReplyDeleteOr maybe not.
Delete9 Spandau Ballet - To Cut a Long Story Short
ReplyDelete6. The Detroit Emeralds - "Feel the Need in Me"
ReplyDelete4 Slits Typical Girls
ReplyDeleteJust beat me!
Delete4. The Slits but wouldn't know the song.
ReplyDeleteThink I'll stop now though - leave some for the rest.
1 Julian Cope
ReplyDeleteSong is ... ?
Given the current climate could be
DeleteWorld Shut Your Mouth!
No. I wasn't being as clever as Alyson thinks. No intentionally themed songs this week.
DeleteHistorians needed for this clue.
7. Miranda Lambert - "Kerosene"
ReplyDeleteI lied - Just spotted Barry Blue at No. 10. Only remember Dancin' On A Saturday Night however and don't think it's that.
ReplyDeleteDo You Wanna Dance?
ReplyDeleteIs the Daryl Hall song "Dreamtime"????
ReplyDeleteYes.
DeleteToo late to play along today (unless I can figure out that Julian Cope song) but so pleased to see SS as usual. Thanks for staying up late for us Rol.
ReplyDeleteSo we still need #8, 5 & 1 title. The group from 5 is connected to the title from 1.
ReplyDelete8 were NME darlings around the turn of the century.
5 is Sly Fox - Let's Go All The Way
ReplyDelete1 is Julian Cope - Reynard The Fox
Is no. 8 Sum 41? I'm thinking American punk band, turn of the century, and a mathematical symbol but no idea about the rest of the clue!
ReplyDeleteNo. Good try though. I think they were British, which is why the NME loved them.
DeleteKing Adora - Bionic
ReplyDeleteThanks for the scraps, everybody!
Well done, Brian.
DeleteHappy belated birthday, pal.
