Positive Giraffes For Negative Times

There's a house near where Sam's Nanna lives that has a huge wooden sculpture of a giraffe in the garden, peeping over the hedge at passing motorists. We were over there the other day, and were pleased to see the giraffe is observing the correct protocols for the current times. It's wearing a mask. (Click on the pic to see it properly.)

Here's a great song about a giraffe from the Flaming Lips. It's notable for a couple of reasons. The video is directed by Sofia Coppola (Wayne Coyne looks so young!) and the CD single was shaped like this...

  1. I'm impressed that someone managed to get a mask on that high!
    Quirky

  2. Ah, who doesn't love a giraffe?
    Nice touch with the mask.
Funnily enough I only mentioned "a young Wayne Coyne" in conversation this morning as caught a glimpse of someone who looked like him.

  3. Love everything about this post - The masked giraffe, the CD shape, the video clip and the song. There should be more African animals in British suburban gardens (but not real ones).
