Saturday Snapshots #155

Sharp-eyed readers will note that last week's Saturday Snapshots was #153 and this week's is #155.

That is because the new blogger template (which finally became the only blogger template on Thursday night after months of me pressing "revert to legacy" whenever I wanted to write a post) deleted a whole post... and I have no idea who was on it, because I put it together weeks ago. I was toying with the idea of switching to wordpress, but I really don't have the time or the energy.

So we'll have to make do for the time being, won't we? I fail to understand why every time a piece of software becomes updated it actually makes it worse (see also the new Facebook template), but maybe that's just the sound of an old man howling at the wind.

Still, always look on the bright side of life, eh, Eric?

Here's ten clues that weren't deleted. Artist and title for each, please...

10. Margot & Joan relocate to Washington... visiting a beautiful symbol of freedom on the way.

9. Marx writes about honey oaks... while the Queen gives thanks.

8. I'm a hearty rug... and I need a tipple.

7. Often found in a Hitchcock movie: a stout draught.

6. Two tins. How rude!

5. Punctuated by nemeses of spiders or captains... ducts run dry.

4. Top up twice, like an old court and Joan... the answer's obvious, darling.

3. Losing their religion... but still very compassionate.

2. A Big Spender or a Big Daddy... and their business. Triple pity.

1. Spotlight on part of a 6 pack, bleating.

Don't be too Idle tomorrow morning... you might miss the answers.

  3. A good week for me but don't want to spoil it for others so will hold back.

Sorry to hear about the blogger tech issues. I think it is us - My daughter and her friends seem to seamlessly adapt to new technology as it's apparently intuitive. Not so much for oldies like me.

  7. " an old man howling at the wind"
THIS old man was howling at the goats yesterday to get out of the wind and rain. They didn't.

  8. No. 1. For some reason the picture reminds me of Abba's last concert. I am unable to fit your clue to Abba. So it can't be their lesser known song about goats (the bleating bit)

    1. Baaaa,George? Perhaps another part of the clue relates to the song?

    2. Assuming I have the correct group, I still can't get the song.

  9. 5 is puzzling me. From the clue I'm getting something about 'birdseye'... am I way off or getting vaguely warm?!

    1. Different Captain. You will all know the song... though you may be more familiar with a cover version?
