Saturday Snapshots #300

On the 23rd of September, 2017, I started a new feature on this blog. I wasn't sure if it would take off... and yet, almost six years later, we're still playing it. Thank you to those of you who have been here from the start... and to those who joined in along the way. Apologies to those of you who got fed up with it ages ago. To celebrate, here's a bumper collection of Snapshots to identify... but what could they all be singing about?

30. University head has a lot of bills to pay.

29. Why aren't they twisting?

28. Crockett, needs a Minder.

27. Collects Bibles, Journals and Postcards.

26. When Rooney met Isaac.

25. Zuckerberg gets a softer finish while Leonard loses an E.

24. World Champion, on the wall.

23. Vera E. Smacks Guys.

22. Elton sounds like two cymbals on a pedal stand.

21. Wireless person.

20. It's a short month, directed by Scorsese.

19. Half vicious lion, half hissing eagle.

18. Guides.

17. Former miner.

16. Almost Moonstruck, but won't propagate.

15. Purple bloke gets mixed up and refuses to pay his debts.

14. Bumpy Celine.

13. Compete at King's College, inside.

12. What you might say if you wanted to invite Kay and Z round for a casual chat.

11. Self-confessed hobo, jogging from an early age.

10. Let's talk LFC. Do they have the answers?

9. Exonerating mix-up.

8. Nobody cares for this Smith.

7. Children of Florence.

6. His Battenberg was sopping.

5. Loved by her dad from the first time he ever saw her face.

4. West Side gang outcry.

3. Do you like Alan?

Nah. My lessons would be much better without him in there.

2. Tina Needs Baseball.

1. One Simple Little Dicky Bird.

I hope I don't take up too much of your weekend with this bobbins... that said, I imagine you'll have got them all by 9.30. Answers tomorrow morning, anyway.

  2. Morning Rol and congratulations on the big 300!

As a Johnny Come Lately to this series, I fail spectacularly most weeks but I'm heading out a little later than usual this morning so I'll have a crack at a few, starting with #29.

    2. Well, he does look rather gorgeous there. Would I be so shallow?!

  8. 20 is Janis Martin not Jan - apologies.

Is the link songs that relate to Elvis and/or Graceland in some way?

  9. 26 is Dickie Davies regardless of who it actually is. 7 looks like the band that comedian Dom Joly was in before he mucked around with a big phone.

    Congratulations on 300...brilliant.

    2. Looks a bit like Eric Bristow and the clue kind of fits (Darts Champ) but surely he’s never inflicted his singing on us. Or has he? The mind boggles.

    2. Belle & Sebastian?
    3. Alannah Myles
    15. Gillian Welch

    4. must have Jets or Sharks in it somewhere. Similarly Jays in 12 and Radio in 21.

And I don't care what CC says, 30 is definitely Ted Bovis from Hi-De-Hi during the mid-60s folk boom

  14. CONGRATULATIONS ROL ON THE 300 - so sorry I missed yesterday’s extravaganza as I’ve been joining in since the beginning. Would have got a fair few but well done Ernie on getting the link. Thanks for entertaining us for all this time.
