Self-Help For Cynics #40: Recognise When You Need A Break

I'm taking a bit of a break from daily blogging over the summer. Many times, writing this blog helps keep me sane. Other times, it just adds another rusty tin can on the back of the Buckaroo donkey. Snapshots will continue over the weekends and (with a little help from George), so will Namesakes. Most of the other features are on hold for now, but I'll check back in when the spirit moves me.

Look after yourselves.

  1. Enjoy a well earned break Rol.
I doubt I would be doing daily posts if I was still working.

  2. We'll miss you something terrible but you've definitely earned a rest.

  3. A good shout, Rol, hope you get some much deserved rest and relaxation. For some time, blogging has been a boost/motivator, though I would consider a break if only to give me time to comment more frequently on this and other blogs…!

I’d quite happily take a break from the full-time job but no sign of that in the short term… (cue violins)

Great - and extensive - list of Breakaway songs and very good to see Big Pig amongst them.

The other effect of this post is that I suddenly have the urge to buy an 8-pack of plastic wrapped milk chocolate covered digestive biscuit bars…

  4. If anyone deserves a break from daily blogging, it's you Rol. I have no idea how you keep up the momentum. You will be missed but glad to hear Saturday Snapshots will still be running. Keeps the grey matter active.

  5. As all have said above. We'll miss you but I would far rather know that you're taking a well-earned break than think of you putting yourself under any pressure just to be doing this. I'm forever in awe of anyone who has ever blogged/continues to blog every day (or every week, for that matter). Thank you for keeping SS going, though - it really is much treasured. Take care of yourself over the Summer and any other appearances you may feel the urge to make in the meantime will be much appreciated, I know.

  6. Only wise men can make wise decisions. See you after the commercial break.
