Saturday Snapshots #17
Come as you are for this week's Saturday Snapshots.
As always, ten clues to plague your weekend. Artist & song title for each, please.
10. All Bar 1 (or 50), a bit like fishing tackle, taking photos of a Soft Cell song.
9. Saucy dancers have a mirror in the bathroom.
8. Good for cars, fires and burglars in Southern Australia.
7. Can a real boy's dad stomach this?
6. Hang on twice to Dot's dog.
5. London prisoners turn to this in a power cut.
4. Syd was pretty tough - and loaded!
3. German stone guy makes a Take That song even worse.
2. Little miss sunshine makes half-serious music in pursuit of her target.
1. Voodoo creates an invisible woman.
I can't see any of those causing you any problems. Answers tomorrow morning.
No. 6 would be Toto but not sure of the song.
ReplyDeleteWill return when I move to a bigger screen although all the answers will no doubt be in by then!
4. Earl Barrett - Money
ReplyDeleteClose... But no cigar.
DeleteThanks to Alyson I can get the song - Hold The Line for no. 6
ReplyDeleteNo.1 The Zombies - She's Not There.
ReplyDeleteNo.7 Belly - Gepetto
ReplyDeleteNo.8 The Alarm - A New South Wales.
ReplyDeleteThat's a fine set of permed mullets there being sported by the boys!
DeleteI know No.3, but you'll never get me to admit to it.
ReplyDeleteNo.10 Al Stewart - Bedsitter Images.
ReplyDeleteNo.9 is The Go-Go's, but someone will have to help with the song.
ReplyDeleteWe Got The Beat
DeleteThat's all I've got.
ReplyDeleteNo 9 The Go Go's.
ReplyDeleteNo 4 Barrett Strong.
Earl Barrett was a footballer.
ReplyDeleteToo difficult for me this week. On the plus side, some bands I'm unfamiliar to add to the ever growing list.
ReplyDeleteBack to the tennis final to see if the Danish girl can win her first major
The Swede is on Fire
ReplyDeleteThe Go Gos song refers to that song by The Beat so the answer is We Got The Beat, I think?
ReplyDelete3 is Jim Steinman (stone man) but no idea what the song is.
ReplyDeleteIf #3 is Jim Steinman then the song must be Bad for Good, as the Take That song is Back For Good.
ReplyDeleteI've seen Little Miss Sunshine and the actress is Abigail Breslin, her character's name is Olive Hoover. I'm none the wiser about #2 though.
The Little miss sunshine reference, is it connected to the film? The only songs I know from that are by Sufjan Stevens and Rick James. And that picture is, I am 100% confident, not Rick James. Or Sufjan stevens.
ReplyDeleteNothing to do with the film. The sunshine connection is more cryptic (music related though).
DeleteNo 2 is surely the lovely Kacey Musgraves with Follow Your Arrow..
ReplyDeleteI knew it was Kacey from the pic but have just figured out your sunshine reference - KC & the Sunshine Band - very good!
DeleteI can think of three London prisons but can't link any to whoever that is in the picture.
ReplyDeleteWhich 3?
Delete3
ReplyDeleteJim Steinman - Bad For Good
(The album was originally intended as the follow up to Bat Out Of Hell.
But a combination of Meat Loaf's failing voice, and the breakdown of their relationship saw Jim go it alone.
A couple of tracks resurfaced on Bat Out Of Hell II.
Not a terrible album, just not that brilliant either
Thought I'd be too late to the party but 5 is Generator by The Holloways, a brilliant track and past clandestine classic: http://newamusements.blogspot.co.uk/2015/12/clandestine-classic-xliv-generator.html
