Saturday Snapshots #26

It's Saturday - time to be a Gambler on Saturday Snapshots.

Cowards of the County need not take part...

10. Strolling round the Sun puts a scratch on your cornet.

9. Frank had a few, on the beach.

8. Massachusetts is better than Flashdance!

7. I don't doubt you could tape over this - so calm down!

6. The brown-eyed kings of Connacht take more than a week.

5. 46, I think. If I'm still here in another 136 years, I'll scarcely be able to open my eyes.

4. Where you'll find the virgin oil... and one's main elbow.

3. Reserve Michael, Clive and Wilfred to go all around the world.

2. A priest plays for Clint at the Mesopotamian party.

    1. #8 is tough. The only help I can give you is in the clue. Think of something Frank had a few of.

    2. #9 Frank Sinatra had a few affairs. Still stumped I'm afraid

    3. Ok as no-one else has suggested this I did a quick check and there is a band called The Regrettes - Someone else can work out the song.

    4. Okay. Seashore by The Regrettes.

  8. No. 4 - Mary Wells? I think you've used this as a clue before for Mary otherwise I'd have been stumped - Not sure of the song.

  9. Think I'm done for today - Tempted to say Hee Bee Gee Bees for No. 5 though!

If a number in the song title it must be 182 or 2154 but don't think it'll be either - Really curious about that one now.

    1. One of those numbers is accurate... but not for the title.

    2. Ah - Is it Blink 182 but wouldn't be able to get the song.

    3. I think you got it Alyson. Blink 182 seems to be right. My pick for the song is What's My Age Again?

  10. I think the Mary Wells song is "You Beat Me To The Punch" - but only because it's the only song that might involve an elbow, as mentioned in the clue. *sigh*

    1. Think of a famous elbow.

    2. Is it My Guy (the bloke in Elbow is called Guy something?)

      Delete
    3. A famous Elbow would be Guy Garvey.... so 'My Guy'!

  11. 2. Father John Misty (I twigged the Clint Eastwood film straight off) but no idea of the song.

  12. Is it just me or are these getting harder? I was too late anyway but the only one I could get was Boston. Will have to mull over the missing ones and hope inspiration strikes....
