Does Your Mother Know you're looking at Saturday Snapshots again?
That's The Name Of The Game - identify ten artists and songs from the clues below.
Do I think you'll get them all right again?
I Do, I Do, I Do, I Do...
10. When Michael met Sinatra, Jake & Elwood dealt the cards.
9. Dame Judi Dench shares our collective obsession.
8. The 5th (of 5) + the 3rd (of 8) = how we feel when we've had enough.
7. Genius hits the Irish Cream... and sets the turntables spinning.
6. Pop's very dull boss begs for an extension.
5. Rambler in the Antarctic. O!
4. A potato king throws a party in Barnet. We loathe ourselves for attending.
3. Barbie's perfect man joins Johnny on the late show to celebrate juggernauts.
2. So angry, he kills giants and presidents with a perfect simile.
1. Brian's on the fence about wild horses in a Field.
Answers tomorrow. Go on - Take A Chance On Me!
9 M - Pop Music
ReplyDelete(Easy one out of the way, now I might have to start thinking a bit)
Tricky this week.Stuck
ReplyDelete1 Wilson Pickett - Mustang Sally
ReplyDelete(is it just me, or does the picture look a bit like Eddie Murphy?)
No. not just you - I thought the same!
Delete6 Chairman of the Board - Give Me Just A Little More Time
ReplyDelete3 seems to be Kendal Carson, who I know nothing about...
ReplyDelete5 is Scott Walker but no idea of the song.
Kendal Carson's song is I Like Trucks.
Delete7. Corinne Bailey Rae - "Put Your Records On"?
ReplyDelete5 Scott Walker - Jackie
ReplyDeleteGood clue that one - makes perfect sense one you decipher it
10 is Jackson C. Frank - "Blues Runs The Game" (my fave is the John Renbourn version of that song!)
ReplyDeleteWill have to track it down - only a ropy live version on youtube. I love the Simon & Garfunkel version.
DeleteBit late again so only tricky ones left.
ReplyDeleteNo. 4 - An Edward perhaps? Last name something to do with hair? Edward Wildinhair if he exists?
I got #7 Corinne Bailey Rae
ReplyDelete#8: (I assume the first part of the clue= 3,6). Three 6 Mafia? But can't be as that group is black...Three 6 by deathcore band Attila isn't plausible either.
No. 2 - Someone exists called Stereo Assassin but don't think this is him!
ReplyDeleteNo. 8 song could be "Satisfied"? But what does the 5 and the 8 refer to - Bands, Months....
ReplyDeleteNo.4 Edward Ball - Mill Hill Self Hate Club. Tune!
ReplyDeleteOk so not Edward Wildinhair then! I feel foolish, going to have to start checking in early to get the easier ones.
DeleteI had that on a compilation tape but never knew who it was by.Cheers Swede!
DeleteI think the photo in No.2 is of David Lee Roth, but I don't know any of his solo stuff other than the gruesome cover of 'California Girls'.
ReplyDeleteNo.8 is The Wannadies, but I'm blowed if I can unscramble your clue to the song!
ReplyDelete8 is The Wannadies. Can't pin the clue on a song yet though.
ReplyDeleteAh!
DeleteYou and Me Song.
U being the 5th of 5 vowels, me being the 3rd of 8 somethings...
Martin - thinking the same thing at the same time, but you beat me to it on the You bit - I've got the Me bit though! :-)
DeleteNice work :)
DeleteOnce again I'm too late.
ReplyDeleteIf No. 2 is David Lee Roth as TS suggests, it's a fab clue! I don't know any of his solo material either. A quick look at a singles listing throws up a possibility though - is it 'Just Like Paradise'? (Never heard of it!)
That would be a perfect simile!
DeleteOoh, I think I've got the Wannadies song! Amd a bit of lateral thinking - is it the You And Me Song? I.e. You = U which is the 5th of 5 vowels and, erm..... Me from do-re-mi-far-so-la-ti-do...?
ReplyDeleteYou are so smart C - I feel such a fool as all my guesses were way off the mark. I seem to know about potatoes but little else. Well done!
