Yeah, I had to look up those song titles. Ronan Keating seems like a pleasant enough chap, but I can't pretend to be familiar with his hits. Hopefully you'll be more familiar with solving the clues below to reveal ten artists with songs connected by a particular theme...
...although I'm warning you now, it's a tricky one this week.
10. He Felt different in new material...
9. A Stewart is a Scott.
8. The People's Fiend.
7. Crowd of kilts.
6. This sounds like Rachel's.
5. Living next door to a howler.
4. How you might greet Bruce, John and Jeff.
3. Enoch, Jill, Tim: Amalgamated.
2. Mind them.
1. In demand. Sort of.
If any of these prove Unbreakable, the answers will become Obvious tomorrow morning...
5 Wolf Alice
ReplyDelete3 Joni Mitchell
ReplyDelete1 The Damned
ReplyDelete2 - this is Mr SDS' eagle eyes spotting Nick Lowe in the line-up and tellling me it's the Tartan Horde
Confused me there for a minute C. Think Nick is with the kilted people in 7!
DeleteArgh, that's what I meant of course, thanks Alyson!
Delete3. Joni Mitchell
ReplyDelete8 Public Enemy
ReplyDelete6. There are four of them so I'm going with the Marvelettes (with Stevie Wonder?). Sorry not getting the clue though.
ReplyDeleteYou're looking at the wrong part of the stage...
DeleteAh Ray Charles and his Orchestra - Ray Charles, sounds like Rachel's
Delete2. The Gap Band - got the clue this time.
ReplyDeleteUnlike you I am familiar with the hits of Ronan Keating, but those are by Westlife. I suspect you knew that though!
ReplyDeleteNo comment. For now.
Delete10. Denim
ReplyDeleteAs it's Mental Health Awareness week, is the link songs about the mind, the head and mental health illnesses?
ReplyDeleteNo. Tough link this week. There is a clue though...
DeleteIs the link songs that have the same name as Boy Bands - Bros, Big Fun?
ReplyDeletePlus Blue, 911
DeleteI think Alyson may be on to it. Ray Charles could be 'Busted' for example
Delete4 - is there a band called the Haywains?
ReplyDeleteWell done - I went through all the famous Bruce and Jeffs I knew but didn't think of those.
DeleteTook me a while because I was thinking of Rod or Jackie for the Stewart, but 9 is of course the great Patrik Fitzgerald, famed for his Backstreet Boys EP and other hits. I've been lucky enough to have a beer with him a couple of times over the years.
ReplyDeleteAh, yes Patrik, I see it now. Great that you've known him, Ernie. Was lucky enough to see him perform at a small venue in my home town in '81, a very intimate, lovely gig - warm memories.
DeleteI saw him a few times around that time as well. Then about ten years ago he visited the UK for a few gigs (he lives in NZ now). My mate and I cornered him and his other half after his gig in the late lamented 100 Club and had a few drinks together.
DeleteFriend of the stars, Ernie...
DeleteWell done, guys. I wasn't sure if the link would be too hard this week. That's why I had a picture of Ronan but used Westlife song titles...
ReplyDeleteAh well done Alyson, excellent work, and Ernie too.
ReplyDeleteI was told that the Tartan Horde's most (only?) well-known song was 'Bay City Rollers, We Love You' which stumped me until you solved the connection.
The late great Ernie Goggins sweeps up!
ReplyDeleteAll credit must go to Alyson, I would never have got the clue
