    3. Back in the 1980s I was living in Dorset and for many weeks the only job available in the local job centre was for a pig man in Templecombe. Me and my then bandmates adapted the old Glen Campbell classic into a savage indictment of rural unemployment, the refrain to which went "the Templecombe pig man is still feeding swine". Bizarrely it was never a hit, not even in Templecombe.

    4. Of course it is - I was being too obtuse. Well done Ernie.

Always fancied the life of a postman... but not in winter, or in bad weather, or the heavy bag, or the ferocious dogs etc. maybe not.

    6. Well done Ernie - we need to hear the song in full. I worked in a Job Centre for a while but we never had a pig man vacancy sadly.

    7. I bet you didn't last long, C. You're not grumpy enough.

How did you get the job? Went in looking for work and someone had called in sick, so they said "can you start today?"

    8. Ha, not quite... But working in there did help me get my next job, I'm not even sure it got as far as the display board!
