Another esteemed member of the Snapshots team steps up to bat this weekend - many thanks to C from Sun Dried Sparrows for her sterling work - and she even brought Ron Wood from the Stones along to show that there's no hard feelings after the drubbing Brown Sugar received in this week's Cancel Culture Club.
I think this is a tough one, folks - but then maybe that's because I only have to put these things together every week, not work them out.
Who are the artists below and how are their songs connected?

Is the link horror films? Valley of the Dolls, Bodysnatchers etc
ReplyDeleteSorry, no
DeleteStruggling but bearing in mind who set the quiz and the possibility that might be renowned artist Ronnie Wood in the photo at the top, is there an art/ painting connection of some sort?
ReplyDeleteYes, there is
DeleteJust noticed that Rol very kindly told us it is Ron Wood so sticking with 'something to do with painting' until told otherwise.
DeleteIt's more specific... and not just painting
Delete15. Anagram of David Sylvain?
ReplyDeleteUnusual food types?
ReplyDeleteSorry no - Ernie is on the right lines though
DeleteConnected to artwork of album covers?
DeleteNot that, sorry!
Delete- Maybe think back to school days...
Need to head out now unfortunately. Parting guesses:
DeleteMaterials used by artists? (Oils, wax, watercolours etc)
Same name of famous works of art? ('The Night Watch' by King Crimson)
We need C back on our team, if only to stop her scoring against us.
Well done, Ernie - your first suggestion is about as close as it could be! But slightly less specific - not all materials, some other bits and bobs too...?
DeleteSome other bits and boobs!
DeleteHaha, not quite!
DeleteCombining your answer - things you might find in an art studio, and Ernie's answer - materials used by artists, makes you both today's winners. Congrats, sorry it was a tough one!
The theme I worked to was 'Things you might for Arts & Crafts', so practical stuff, and not just for painting, but items you might use to actually make things with, or out of.
Things you might *use* for Arts & Crafts
DeleteIs it things you'd find in an art studio - colours, pink orange red, nude, model etc
ReplyDeleteOh well done, that's so close - it could be one interpretation! But the answer is slightly more specific and wouldn't include 'colours' or 'pink orange red'. Perhaps I've just been a bit crafty with this one.
DeleteRotten apple, Nude, Family portrait etc - subject matters for artworks
DeleteOh that's a great idea but getting further away!
DeleteThe answer is more "practical"... and definitely could be found in an art studio, or art room at school.
I think you and Ernie have got it between you, I just gave it a different slant.
Ok - things used by artists/kids in school to make crafty/arty things?
DeleteLooking forward now to seeing the answers tomorrow! You made it tough enough so that no-one got it in 3 minutes which is what would happen I think if I set one. Well done and respect to Rol yet again for what he does week in week out.
Yes! That's it - I just answered your earlier one above but see you've already got there. (Though not necessarily just kids!) Well done and thanks!
DeleteSo hard to know how to do it. When you know the answer yourself it seems easy, but when you're starting out from absolutely no idea it's so hard with nothing to go on. As you say - respect to Rol for managing it every week, I don't know how he does it!
I blame William Morris
DeleteDoes each artist represent a particular style of music?
ReplyDeleteSorry no - Ernie and Alyson are closest to the answer I had in mind, I think I made it too difficult!
DeleteWell done, everyone. Apologies for my absence this morning- very busy day. Thanks again to C for holding the fort!
