ReplyDeleteManaged to work out #9 but others got there first
ReplyDeleteIs #4 song The Lighter Side of Dating?
ReplyDeleteI think it might be a really obscure track, actually. But I like it. It's named after someone relevant... though that knowledge might not translate overseas.
DeleteI'm late today and everything gone pretty much but is it a song with the name Cilla in it. Doubt if Brian is au fait with Ms Black.
DeleteYou've pretty much got the answer there, Alyson. Now we just need CC to get #7.
Delete#10 The Airborne Toxic Event - Sometime Around Midnight (Mrs. Brian)
ReplyDeleteJust an observation but as I wrote about the song Love Grows by Edison Lighthouse quite recently I noticed that Tony Burrows isn't part of the line-up in that picture. They were a band made up of session musicians and their only big hit was when Tony was brought in on lead vocals. He had also been part of 2 other bands at the same time so had 3 singles in the Top 10 at the same time. He ended up being a 5 times 'one-hit wonder'.
ReplyDeleteOnly No. 7 left I think but struggling with it.
ReplyDeleteWhere's CC today? He should get that one.
DeleteSorry I'm late!
ReplyDeleteBaby Huey - Hard Times
Thank you. That was some lie in.
DeleteYou are correct (as was Alyson). I know Cilia Black from her '60s music, but I did not know the Blind Date reference. Worse, there is an '80s movie called Blind Date with Bruce Willis (thus the thought that it was The Lighter Side of Dating or even March of the Eligible Bachelors). Anyway, trying to make the connection between that bad movie and the Monochrome Set drove me batty, and I was way off.
ReplyDeleteSorry, Brian. I should have gone with Anyone Who Had a Heart clue.
DeleteMy parents owned very few singles when I was young but Anyone Who Had a Heart was one of them. I still have it.
