Due to our imminent (fingers still crossed) move, I've been packing boxes and unscrewing shelves all weekend, so no time to collate the mammoth Fred entry to Name That Tune, or do your many suggestions justice. So here's a couple of Freda songs to tide you over, starting with the lady above...
...who also gets name-dropped in this...
I'm a friend of Arthur Askey
I'm a friend of Freda Payne
I'm a friend of Danny Angel
I'm a friend of big John Wayne
There were a few other minor lyrical nods, but I could only find two songs that had Freda in the title. The first was this...
The Band of Holy Joy - Freda Cunningham
The second was this...
Name That Tune will return in a couple of weeks. Hopefully. Bear with me during the transition...
Ah, love that Ants track.
ReplyDeleteBest of luck with the move Rol.
ReplyDeleteAn excellent picture of Freda Hiatus there Rol
ReplyDeleteGood luck with the flitting
Thanks for that Jake Thackray track and all the best with your move.
ReplyDeleteAll good stuff and nice to see some fulsome thighs there too!
ReplyDeleteFingers crossed for you, you're almost there...
Yes, cross fingers all goes smoothly with the move.
ReplyDeleteAs for the Freda pic, that is some dress she's wearing, and not even exposing the bits that usually make a dress quite daring. No granny pants for Freda. (Love her song by the way, but don't think I ever knew what she looked like.)
Here's an obscure Freda reference... as they all are. You probably know the name Roger Bechirian from being behind the glass in various roles for Elvis Costello, Nick Lowe, Squeeze and on and on. He once used the alias Count Freda in his work when he wrote the song "When You Comin' Back," sung first by the Convertibles and soon after by Carlene Carter on her excellent 1981 album 'Blue Nun.' Are those crickets I hear off in the distance?
ReplyDeleteBest of luck with the move, Rol. Let me know if you need any help. (He says knowing he lives 5,000 miles away.) Ha!
