I'm Out Of Time to do a fancy intro this week... so here are the Snapshots.
Solve them before tomorrow morning, please.
10. Song about writing about songs, written by a songwriter who sounds like a songwriter who writes the songs... with a bit missing.
9. Stealing Liz or Andy is a puzzle.
8. Santana Samba gets an A in winter sports... fortunate lass!
7. Prestige, dropped by Joan.
6. World Eater at the tiller, like The Godfather said.
5. A horse or a gun for Dear Madonna... is that what you meant?
4. Sons of ageing MacDonald go bucolic.
3. Shorter cave dwellers and crazy item.
1. Mr. Jawbones... isn't it a bit early for that, first thing on a Saturday morning?
9. Nick Kershaw - The Riddle
ReplyDeleteHe's looking rather lovely these days, don't you think?!
DeleteHe is indeed - Unlike many of them he has aged well. I watched the whole of Live Aid on DVD recently and he was one of the acts on the day. I remarked at the time that he looked just so young and even had a few teenage spots - Turns out he would have been 27. Destined to always look younger than his years.
Delete3 The Troggs - Wild Thing
ReplyDelete10. Barry Mann - Who Put The Bomp?
ReplyDelete7. That's Andy F-L so the band is Pilot but not working out the song from the clue.
ReplyDelete6. Jimmy Helms - Gonna Make You An Offer
ReplyDelete1. James Brown - Cold Sweat (?)
ReplyDeleteWrong song.
Delete1. A young James Brown (anagram) - Get Up Offa That Thing?
ReplyDeleteOr, Get Up I Feel Like Being A Sex Machine? Definitely a bit early for all that malarkey!
Delete2 Bernard Butler
ReplyDeleteDon't know song
I had you down for #8, CC.
DeleteAnd #5, come to think of it.
DeleteNope
Delete5 there is a Colt and an Amanda in there
There's a Colt... er, and some other stuff.
DeleteWaylon Jennings recorded a song called "Amanda", but I don't think his wife Jessi Colter did.
Delete1. James Brown - (Get Up I Feel Like Being A) Sex Machine
ReplyDelete2. Is Bernard Butler song Not Alone?
ReplyDelete4 - is it the Farmers Boys? Don't know song...
ReplyDeleteIn the Country
Delete7 is Pilot but the song I don't know.
ReplyDeleteWe need to think of different meanings for Prestige.
ReplyDeleteAnything to do with pans?
DeleteMagic
DeleteThank you, Jim.
Delete5. Could it be a young Alanis Morrisette?
ReplyDeleteIt could not.
Delete5. Jessi Colter - "You Mean to Say". The song is a wild guess.
ReplyDeleteI'm not sure I can remember what the song was supposed to be, so I might give you that.
DeleteThe song she's best known for is "I'm Looking For Blue Eyes".
DeleteIt was on "Wanted! The Outlaws" album along with "You Mean To Say". The album was the first sampler of "Outlaw Country" songs by the likes of Waylon Jennings and Willie Nelson.
DeleteActually, you were right first time.
Delete8 - Patti Scialfa - Lucky Girl (from Mrs. Brian)
ReplyDeleteAnother brainteaser that I love. Patti= Pa Ti from Santana's "Samba Pa Ti" and A in winter sports (alpha ski). And a fortunate lass? Lucky Girl Yes, scary that you and I think alike.
Well done, Mrs B. That was a perfect answer.
