Taking A Break

Apologies for the non-appearance of the Hot 100 this week, and for the absence of any other posts over the next few days (although I should still be able to keep Saturday Snapshots going for a while as I have a backlog of those stored up). Moving house is the priority right now, but work pressures are playing on my mind more than ever and though writing this blog usually provides a sanity-restoring lifeline in times of stress, lately it's felt more of a chore than a release. As we all know, when blogging gets like that... you have to step back.

The image above is what I'd like to be doing right now. Fat chance of that.

Here's the best song I've listened to today. Speak again soon.

  5. Best of luck with the move (hopefully not too much gets lost).
"A chore rather than a release" - when it get's like that, kick it into touch for a bit.
I did recently, and am just trying to find inspiration to keep on with more than 1 post per month

  6. Yes definitely time for a break - We’re all rooting for you to have a successful house move and to kick those work pressures into touch. As TS said, see you on the other side.

  7. Good luck with the move, Rol

Regarding the blog. I remember telling Alyson this a couple of years back: write when you want to write, don't write when you don't want to write. I enjoy blogging because I lovey writing. It's not a chore, neither is it 'homework'. Setting yourself a target of blogging everyday is admirable. But you've got to enjoy it.

  8. If you can take a holiday from a job, then you can do the same with a blog. Good luck with the house move.

  9. I've often said it: when blogging becomes a chore, stop for a while. You're doing the right thing. Good luck with the move, we'll be here when you get back.
