Dude, where's my Snapshots!
Here we go with another Excellent Adventure, courtesy of our guest co-host John Medd. Following George's guest spot a fortnight ago, John messaged me...
Hi Rol,
I've been away and missed SS this week. However, I did see that George was guesting.
Should you ever decide to repeat this manoeuvre, I'd be glad if you would consider my offering below. You'll probably take one look at it and go, in true comic book style, "PAH!" and drop it straight in your wastepaper basket. In which case, I'm sorry in advance for having taken up your precious time.
No such response, John. Although because you only suggested ten songs, I had to add a further five of my own.
Be warned, Snapshotters... I think this week's link is rather a fiendish one...
15. The process of transferring certain residents' belongings from Number 15 to Number 9.

Hopefully, none of those clues got on your Wick.
Answers tomorrow morning!
10. George Harrison
ReplyDelete1. Eagles

ReplyDeleteIs the guest post a thing now? Maybe all us regulars should give it a go (with Rol's permission of course)
ReplyDeleteAnything that cuts down on my workload!
Delete9. ELO?
ReplyDeleteYep.
DeleteJM

DeleteJM
She didn't I did. Her bloody Dad kept coming round and keeping us awake with his all night skiffle parties
Delete14 - Sean Lennon
ReplyDelete12 Focus?
ReplyDeleteNo.
DeleteThink 12 is Genesis. The two on the right look like Mike Rutherford and a hairy Collins
Deletein the days when they could only afford one umbrella between them.
DeleteJM
14. The quite is from 'Beautiful Boy' so is it Sean Lennon?
ReplyDeleteRol?
DeleteJM
Yes. (Sorry. Just woke up. Thought I was getting a lie in!)
DeleteIs the link the Change of Seasons - Hazy Shade of Winter, Here Comes The Sun, Mr Blue Sky etc
ReplyDeleteI'm a frayed knot.
DeleteJM
Is the link to do with Magic - Strange Magic, Magic Dance, Witchy Woman?
ReplyDeleteIt's not, Alyson. Sorry.
DeleteJM
Two good attempts there Alyson
DeleteI said to Rol that Ernie would have this wrapped up by nine o'clock.
ReplyDeleteJM
And I said this was a tough one!
DeleteIs it the occult - witches and ghosts and the like? Scary monsters and super creeps as some might call them?
ReplyDeleteNope.
DeleteJM
I'm not sure on protocol here, but if you want a clue then I'll see what I can do.
ReplyDeleteJM
Think about how Joe Brown got to her daughter's gaff.
ReplyDeleteJM
'His' daughter's.
DeleteJM
The number 73 bus?
DeleteYou're getting warm.
DeleteJM
Public transport?
DeleteYou're getting there. A specific mode of PT. And then think of one word in the song title.
DeleteJM
Go back to Joe Brown.
DeleteJM
Is it Coach Companies?
DeleteThink buses.
DeleteJM
I think I'm now more confused than I was before. Real life is calling so I think I will have to admit defeat.
DeleteWith Blue in the title
DeleteI've got to go too. A word in each of the song titles sits after bus. There, I've told you.
DeleteJM
You come here with your fancy snapshots and just as we're getting there you b****r off - I don't know!! (Just joking but it is a fiendish and elusive link today)
DeleteAh I get it now, Bus Stop (Sam Brown's song) and other such songs, Bus Journey etc. Will be interested to see what they all are tomorrow. Very fiendish today. Do you do the NYT Connections puzzle? Something they would do.
DeleteI fear my guest spot days are over, Alyson. No, I don't do the NYT puzzle - would you recommend it?
DeleteRol will spill the beans tomorrow, but Bowie's for instance was Station to Station; The Eagles/Life in the Fast Lane etc. etc.
Thanks for indulging me, Rol. I do hope I haven't lost all your readership and that they all come back next week. I shall now get my coat.
JM
No takers for number 3? His 1972 single could unlock this.
ReplyDeleteJM
I'm sorry I'm so late - and a fiendish guest post from John too! Came here and thought it would all have been over by 8.35 and yet.... !
ReplyDeleteAll I can add is that No. 3 is an anagram of Duncan Browne and whose 1972 single was Journey.
Correct! Bus journey! I was hoping that Rol would've gone with Gimme Shelter by the Stones, but also not.
DeleteI shall now scurry off with my tail between my legs. It was nice knowing you all.
