Today is the birthday of Theodor Seuss Geisel, born in Springfield, Massachusetts in 1904, the creator of The Grinch, The Cat In The Hat, The Lorax and many other popular children’s books and characters. He’s also the man who gave Marti Pellow a band name… but don’t hold that against him.
“They are tame. Oh, so tame! They have come here to play.
They will give you some fun. On this wet, wet, wet day.” (from The Cat In The
Hat)

I suppose you could argue he also gave Jamiroquai a nickname - but I have to draw the line somewhere.
You can celebrate Dr. Seuss Day by eating a plate of Green
Eggs and Ham… or, if you don’t like them, maybe try listening to these tunes
instead.
You're a star-bellied sneetch, you suck like a leech,
You want everyone to act like you

Dead Kennedys – Holiday In Cambodia
And if that's not lovin' me
Then all I've got to say
God didn't make little green apples
And it don't rain in Indianapolis in the summertime
And there's no such thing as Doctor Seuss
Or Disneyland, and Mother Goose is no nursery rhyme

Miller – Little Green Apples

Dr Seuss was also responsible for some of my favourite Bob Dylan songs:
