It probably says something about our respective personalities that I got it through boring old John Donne while C got it through the wild and reckless ones. Van also did 'Tore Down a la Rimbaud' and 'For Mr Thomas' so I had the chance not to be dull but didn't take it.
DeleteClearly I should have also tried to find a song about John Medd.
DeleteWell done Ernie and C - I would never have got that link.

Morning, I hope I'm not too late...?

Sigh...
See you next week. I'm setting my alarm an hour earlier!
Congrats, Ernie and C, I'm under no illusion that I would have got anywhere near cracking this before you two, but that was good work!
DeleteNow we have the theme, is #1 Tim Buckley?
ReplyDeleteWow, I didn't realise nobody had got #1 yet!
DeleteNo, it's not Tim Buckley.
You'll all kick yourself once the answer comes out...
Is it Prince??
Delete(two question marks because I'm full of doubt)
DeleteGoodnight, sweet prince ...and flights of angels sing thee to thy rest.
DeleteBut who was the poet?
(I mean, the poet Prince sang about... since the line above is from Hamlet.)
DeletePam Ayres. Definitely.
DeleteI do so wish that were true.
DeleteWas Sexy MF about Pam Ayres? Seems a distinct possibility...
